Florida Child Support Guidelines
Child support in Florida is based on the Florida statutes. Both parents will need to provide financial affidavits to the court. Both parents must contribute to health care and day care expenses. This is not based on any agreement that the two of you have created. Factors affecting support payments include:
- The income of both parents
- Monthly expenses
- Certain deductions for costs spent on the child
- Time-sharing or parenting time spent with the child
- Amount of overnights with the parent
At the Law Office of Kathleen A. DeChristopher, Esq., P.A., we will work with you to establish a fair child support plan that will be in the best interest of your child. We will discuss the amount of money you currently spend for day care costs, health insurance, college tuition and after-school costs in order to modify your child support payments.
